BROADWAY DEBUT

Lauren Boyd made her Broadway Debut in HAMILTON AN AMERICAN MUSICAL on January 6th of 2017.

In 2016 Lauren auditioned in Los Angeles and again in New York City. She booked the show in October of 2016 as Woman One, the second person ever to assume the role on Broadway. Six months later she was given the understudy role for Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds.

“After moving to New York City, I traveled back to Los Angeles, my home town, to audition for Hamilton. It was the first time I heard any of the music for the show and I absolutely loved it. I remember being so excited to dance for Andy Blankenbuehler for the first time. After dancing, I was called back to sing for Alex Lacamoire. A few months later I was called in to attend their ‘Hamilton Bootcamp’ for one week of intense training with the creative team. I went in with the mentality, ‘You have the job, now keep the job.’ It was my positive mentality that gave me the confidence I needed to book the show.” ~Lauren Boyd
